The First Place to Turn in Kentuckiana

October 13th Meeting

Hi all!
Bob Faletti will be demonstrating for us at the meeting.
In his own words: "Tim Allen is returning to television with a new comedy show. In honor of what I consider his greatest role as Tim "

The Tool Man" Taylor, I will show the club how to turn the "Binford Model 2011 manly-man snack bowl" using green wood. If successful, this item will be part of the Christmas Party silent auction."-Bob Faletti
So this may be a
very interesting meeting!

On the schedule for the November 10th meeting is Vince Welch with a sanding tutorial. He has done this for us before and it is an excellent and informative demonstration.
Both meetings will be on Thursday nights-starting at 6:30pn til 8:30 pm.

We are trying something different at this meeting. We are going to set up a critique table for anyone that would like to hear from others and get someone elses opinion of their work. Or just bring a piece and self-critique for the rest of us to learn.

Please try to finish up some Christmas ornaments and bring them in. We are still kinda shy of our goal.

Please bring back any Dvds that you may have out.

Membership dues are due in October. If you haven't heard the club membership present at the last meeting voted to raise the dues from $25 to $35 dollars to offset the rising cost of doing business. If you can't make the meeting, you can send a check to:
Parker Curtis
403 S. Lyndon Ln.
Louisville, KY. 40222

If anyone is interested in a very nice lathe, LAW member, Lonnie Combs is selling a 2006 Oneway 2436 lathe. This is the cadilac lathe! it has a 3 hp motor, stainless steel bed, and just about everything else. You can find it on Craigslist or contact Lonnie at
lonniegayle@att.net .

Christmas Party! This years Christmas party will be at the downtown Bristol again. This proved to be a great place for our event last year. This years price has gone up just a little to $25 per person. We will again have the big raffle and the silent auction as well. Everyone is invited to donate a piece of work to the auction. Each of the Board members will be bringing a piece. Come join the fun! Friday, December 16th at 6:00pm at The Bristol-614 West Main St. Louisville. You can bring your money for this to the October or November meeting or send it to Parker.

I would like to take this time to thank our outgoing board members for their time helping the club.
Sonny Hardin and Dave Arnold have both stepped down. They have been great to work with and hope to be seeing them around at the meetings. Thank you both!
I would like to welcome
Harvey Gilley and David Weller to the board. We had our first meeting and it was good to hear new takes on the goings-on of our club and I look forward to having them along with the rest of the board for another two years.
New officers were also appointed at the board meeting. I will be serving one more 2 year term as your president, Bob Faletti will be retained as Vice President, Harvey Gilley has offered his serves as Secretary and we didn't leave Parker any option about staying on as treasurer.

Hope to see you all at the meeting. If you have any questions please feel free to email me anytime. Thanks-Robin
